Christmas Facebook Ad Examples: 8 Real Ads From 2025 and the Calendar Behind Them

The Christmas ads that ran on Meta in 2025 came as four separate ads, each handing off to the next. In 573 holiday ads we pulled from the Ad Library, gift guides went live around November 28, shipping-deadline ads around December 7, gift card ads around December 18 and after-Christmas sales on Christmas Day. The date that holds it together is your shipping cutoff, so pick that first and build the other three around it.

AdMakeAI's Ad Set Studio takes one set of product photos and a short brief and generates the whole December set at feed and Stories sizes: a gift guide, a dated order-by ad, a gift card ad and an after-Christmas version.

Four Christmas ads, handed off around one date

We sorted every ad by the job its copy does and looked at when each kind started and stopped. Four jobs carried the season, and they line up almost end to end.

Christmas 2025, 573 Meta ads

Four ads, each taking over from the last

Middle half of start dates Median start Runs to median last day

Gift guide: 75 ads from 46 advertisers. Half started between Nov 14 and Dec 5, and the median ran 23 days. Christmas sale ads kept almost the same dates.

Ads that reached the US in Meta's Ad Library, November 2025 to January 2026. Medians count each advertiser once. Tap a row for an example.

Each ad takes over when the previous one stops making sense. A gift guide sells choice, which works while delivery is a given. Close to the cutoff the message becomes a date. After the cutoff, the only things left to sell for Christmas are ones that don't ship. Then the gifts are bought and people spend their own money and their gift cards, which is what the after-Christmas sale catches.

The gift guide is the one ad here that shares the calendar with Black Friday, and Christmas sale ads started on almost the same dates. The offer hooks for that stretch are in our Black Friday ad examples. A guide that runs three weeks will tire, so decide when to swap it before it starts.

The order-by ad: one date, about five days of runway

The shipping-deadline ad is the shortest of the four, a median of 6 days, because it expires on its own. 17 stores wrote an exact order-by date into the copy, and the dates bunched up around USPS's ground deadline.

The median date was December 14, three days ahead of USPS Ground Advantage, which leaves time to pack. The ads went up a median of 5 days before that date. That's the pattern we'd copy: put the exact date on the image and in the copy, launch about five days out, and set the end date to the cutoff when you build the ad. 8 of the 17 stopped within a day of their date. Seven kept running five or more days past it, one of them into February, still promising Christmas delivery.

Made-to-order goods need a much earlier date. This one was November 16, and the ad ended that day.

After the cutoff, sell something that doesn't ship

Once the order-by date passes, the ad has to stop promising a parcel. The stores we looked at switched to gift cards: 12 of the 22 gift card advertisers started on or after December 15, and their ads ran a median of 9 days, to Christmas. Shoppers want them too; gift cards topped NRF's 2025 holiday survey of what people hoped to get, at 50%.

The line to copy is the delivery one. "Code via e-mail, no shipping" answers the only question a December 20 shopper has, and it sits on the image where a scroller sees it.

Schedule the after-Christmas sale before you log off

The last handoff lands on December 25, when nobody wants to be in Ads Manager. 42 of the 72 Boxing Day and New Year sale ads we found started between December 23 and 27, so most were built days earlier and scheduled. Meta reviews a scheduled ad when you submit it and says most ads are reviewed within 24 hours; submit by December 22 to be safe. Boxing Day is a UK, Canadian and Australian sale. For a US store, the same slot is a New Year sale.

December 2026, dated

Christmas 2026 falls on a Friday and Cyber Monday on November 30. USPS's recommended send-by dates for the lower 48 are December 17 for Ground Advantage, December 18 for Priority Mail and December 19 for Priority Mail Express. If you ship with another carrier, check its holiday page before you pick a cutoff. Here are the four ads on this year's calendar for a store that stops shipping on December 15.

Marked days: Black Friday Nov 27, Cyber Monday Nov 30, your cutoff Dec 15, USPS ground Dec 17, submit and schedule the sale Dec 22.

Our recommendation, built from the 2025 launch medians and USPS's 2026 dates. Move every date with your own cutoff.

The end dates matter as much as the start dates. Of the 265 ads that started in the 2025 season and said "Christmas" or "Xmas", 29 were still delivering after January 31. The Emmafy ad above, the one that says "Ends in 48H", ran 158 days.

Make the order-by, gift card and after-Christmas versions at the same time as the gift guide, so all four are approved and scheduled before December starts. Ad Set Studio builds them from one brief at the feed and Stories sizes.

Christmas Facebook ads FAQ

When should I start Christmas ads on Facebook?

Have the gift guide live by mid-November; in 2025 half of the gift guide ads we found started between November 14 and December 5. The order-by ad goes up about five days before your shipping cutoff.

When is the last day to ship for Christmas 2026?

USPS recommends December 17 for Ground Advantage, December 18 for Priority Mail and December 19 for Priority Mail Express in the lower 48. For any other carrier, check its holiday page.

Can I schedule Facebook ads to start on Christmas Day?

Yes. Set the start date in Ads Manager and submit a few days early; the ad is reviewed when you submit it and delivers from the start date.

How long do Christmas ads run on Facebook?

In 2025, shipping-deadline ads ran a median of 6 days, gift card ads 9 and gift guides 23. Each one expires with its promise, so plan four ads instead of one for the month.

How do I find last year's Christmas ads in the Ad Library?

Set Active status to All, pick a November to December date range and search an exact phrase in quotes, such as "order by december". Without quotes you get unrelated ads.

Do I need different ads for Christmas and Black Friday?

For the December ads, yes. An order-by date, a gift card after the cutoff and an after-Christmas sale have no Black Friday version.

Your December, in order

  1. 1Pick your cutoff first. USPS Ground Advantage is December 17, so December 15 suits most stores; made-to-order goods need weeks more. Not on USPS? Check your carrier's holiday page.
  2. 2Build all four ads in early November, at feed and Stories sizes.
  3. 3Gift guide live by November 16, ending on your cutoff.
  4. 4Order-by ad with the date on the image, live five days before the cutoff and ending on it.
  5. 5Gift card ad from the day after the cutoff to December 25, saying how the card arrives.
  6. 6After-Christmas or New Year sale submitted by December 22 and scheduled for December 25 or 26.
  7. 7An end date on every ad set before you publish it.

How we got this

25 exact-phrase searches in Meta's Ad Library with Active status set to All, pulled October 10, 2026: US ads with impressions November 1 to December 31, 2025, plus December 20 to January 15 for after-Christmas phrases and one UK Boxing Day search, first results page each. That gave 573 holiday ads from 291 advertisers, ended ads included; the US filter also returned some UK and Australian stores. Jobs were labeled from the ad copy, so text only on the image is missed, and the shipping-deadline and gift card groups were checked by hand. Medians count each advertiser once, among ads started October 1, 2025 or later. Days are start to last delivery, not results, and the counts show timing, not how common each kind is. USPS dates are from its 2025 and 2026 releases.
