To help keep mealtimes running smoothly when starting solids, I recommend keeping a variety of textures on baby’s plate, including purees!

If they start to gag on softer solids or mashed foods, offer a few bites of purees to help baby feel successful with eating. Then offer those soft solids again. This back and forth approach provides balance.
